Cost Per Person: $35.00 minimum recommended donation

Thank you for considering a donation to support the Trotter Family YMCA!  To donate just click the blue "Donate" button to the right.  Your donation to the event gets you in for all-you-can-eat crawfish and a cash bar.

Why: A strategic priority of the Trotter Family YMCA is to promote safety and awareness around water for children, adults and families in our immediate community and the Greater Houston Area. Houston has a staggering number of drownings every summer, and the ability to be safe around water should not be a privilege that only some can afford. With your help, our community can work together to eliminate drowning.  Every dollar donated at the Crawfish Boil will go directly to one of the three water safety programs listed below at the Trotter Family YMCA.

  1. Safety Around Water: teaches children from all backgrounds how to stay safe in and around water. The program is targeted toward ISD schools, apartment complexes and community organizations that do not offer water safety programs. At no cost to the participants, our goal is to offer 130 programs this year.
  2. Go for Green: teaches basic swimming skills to any child in our day camp who cannot pass the swim test. At no cost to the child or family, our goal for this year is to serve 2,073 children.
  3. Swim Lessons: At the Y, no one is turned away for the inability to pay. Basic swim lessons are offered for children, starting at ages 6 months, and adults. We also offer adaptive swim classes for individuals with special needs, which is an identified area of focus and growth this year.

How much of an impact does your donation have, you ask? Here is what your donation can do:

  • $35 helps support the Y water safety programs
  • $100 provides two children with a swim lesson scholarship
  • $150 supports 10 basic group swimming lessons for the kids who attend our day camp
  • $1,000 sponsors a week of safety around water classes for 45 kids at a local apartment complex

Please give a special thanks to this years sponsors, The Mizell and Henningsen Families, for providing us with the crawfish. Without their funding, this fundraising party would not be possible.

We look forward to seeing everyone out there!   Make your donation today for entry to the event, and RSVP on the facebook event invitation page!

*The YMCA of Greater Houston is a 501c(3) and all donations are tax deductible.
