As some of you may know I'm a Board Member at Langham Creek YMCA. Over the past year, as a volunteer with the the Y, I have seen first-hand the ways in which the organization is making a difference in the lives of youth and families in our community.
I'm sure that most of you who live in Cypress are aware of the fantastic Miracle League and Adaptive Sports programs that the Langham Creek Y makes available to the community. The Adaptive Sports complex (https://bit.ly/2yi2X4O) is a one of a kind facility that affords childern with special needs an opportunity to experience and participate in sports. Currently we have more than 460 kids participating in baseball, basketball, football, swimming and other sports.
However at the Y, we also impact thousands of lives every year through the programs we offer in areas such as eliminating drowning, improving academic performance, eliminating chronic disease and childhood obesity and creating opportunities for social equity. Our goal is to offer all members of our community an environment that fosters personal growth, leadership skills and healthy relationships.
We need your help to substain and grow the Langham Creek YMCA and the fantastic programs that it makes available to the community. Your support to our cause makes a true impact, allowing us to help those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford to participate in Y programs. We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and neighbors.
Please consider making a gift today and support our efforts to strengthen our community through the YMCA.
