I would personally like to invite you to contribute to the YMCA of Greater Houston as the summer season kicks off and many at-risk children begin much needed swimming lessons.
As a native Houstonian and board member, the Houston Texans Family YMCA has a special place in my heart. It’s been inspiring to witness the positive effects its outreach has had on transforming this community to be a safer and healthier place to live. The Houston Texans Family YMCA is located just south of the University of Houston in the historic Third Ward. This Y serves a community of about a quarter-of-a-million people, with roughly a third of those being under the age of 18, with a household annual income of less than $29,000.
At the Y, we impact thousands of lives every year through the programs we offer in the areas of eliminating drowning, improving academic performance, eliminating chronic disease and childhood obesity and creating opportunities for social equity. We strive to offer to members of our community an environment that fosters personal growth, leadership skills and healthy relationships.
Your support to our cause makes a true impact, allowing us to help those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford to participate in Y programs. We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and neighbors.
Please consider making a gift today and support our efforts to strengthen our community through the YMCA.
