I am raising funds in support of the Weekley Family YMCA. As a 15-year member and active volunteer at the Y, I love being part of an organization dedicated to serving all.
More than just an exercise facility, the Y serves our community through an abundance of programs, including free swim lessons, summer camps, youth sports, preschool enrichment, academic tutoring, teen leadership training, health and wellness classes, and activities geared specifically for active older adults. This means more kids having a safe place to go after school and during the summer, more senior citizens connecting with their peers versus becoming isolated, and more youth—preschool through college—succeeding academically. All of which makes for a stronger, healthier, better us.
At the Weekley Y, we serve more than 5,000 people annually. This year, our goal is to raise $325,000 to support our outreach programs, which are not covered by membership fees, thereby allowing us to keep with the Y’s mission to serve all, regardless of ability to pay.
A donation of:
$50 - Supports a child staying active through a session of YMCA sports
$100 - Helps 2 children through a session of potentially lifesaving swim lessons
$500 - Funds a teen for a summer of leadership development in the Leaders in Training (LIT) program
$1250 - Provides 2 children with a place to learn and have fun after school in our Outreach program
I hope you will join me in making a gift to the Weekley Family YMCA!
